Nottingham Forest accused a Premier League officiating official of being a supporter of relegation-zone team Luton Town in an astounding social media post that went viral after the team’s 2-0 loss to Everton on Sunday.
During the game, Forest believed that they should have been given penalties three times and they were robbed as the referee was a rival team supporter and claimed that Stuart Atwell supported Luton Town.

Football referees are often accused of favoritism following thier controversial decision and it’s nothing new in the sport. Well, that’s what some of the fans think. However, there are referees who actually have favourite teams.
Many Premier League officials may have felt it prudent to never have made their identification with a single side publicly known, given the pressures they operate under. Many others, on the other hand, have been happy to openly announced their favourites.
Although some of these referees have not revealed their favourites, they don’t get to officiate Liverpool pr Everton matches following the locality and kept away from refereeing Merseyside giants.
