Since then, the post has received praise from some of the most prominent figures in MMA. People like Jon Jones, Israel Adesanya, and many others have liked the post.

Alexander Volkanovski, Mark’s old sparring partner, said, “Legend! Love the shorts mate.”

It is unclear if Mark will continue competing in BJJ matches. His first competition surely seems to be pleasant for him thus far.

Fans wonder if this was a one-off or if he’s started down a similar path to Tomy Hardy, a Hollywood actor who is now well-known for routinely attending BJJ contests in the UK.

In any case, Mark deserves praise for participating in the aforementioned competition. As of right now, he holds the title of being the most well-known participant.

However, the 38-year-old hasn’t visited a martial arts gym in a scorchingly long time. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mark confessed on a Joe Rogan Experience programme, he fell in love with mixed martial arts (MMA).

Last year, viewers observed the CEO of Meta attending ringside at a UFC Apex event. Mark said:

It’s because I have a connection to it. Since COVID, I got super into surfing and foiling, and then really into MMA.”

Mark learned about Guerilla Jiu Jitsu through recommendations from colleagues and coworkers, a veteran and BJJ/Judo Black belt Dave Camarillo’s academy.

For more than 20 years, Dave, a former Ralph Gracie pupil, has been instructing grappling. Daniel Cormier and Cain Velasquez are two of his numerous students.

Right now, it seems like Mark can thank Dave Camarillo, Khai Wu, and James Terry, a grappling expert who has competed in both Bellator and Strikeforce. In a recent IG post, Mark also addressed them.

Zuckerberg has been involved in several combat sports in addition to BJJ. Mark posted a video of himself sparring with Khai Wu, his “main training partner,” before Khai Wu made his UFC debut in 2022.
