The newest project from the streaming service is “The Watcher,” a drama series that will make you shiver as it recounts the true story of a family who moves into their new house only to have things turn into a nightmare when they start receiving a string of threatening letters from an unidentified “Watcher.”

The series is based on the true story of the Broaddus family, whose story gained notoriety after being disclosed in an article published by The Cut in 2018.

In the real world, The Watcher sent the Broaddus family three letters telling them they are being watched and advising them not to make any changes to the residence. The Watcher hasn’t been located since eight years after the letters were published in 2014 when they were written.

The Watcher frequently makes mention of the family’s new house and the mysteries it harbors in his scary letters, as was depicted in the series. Because of this, people are now trying to find out more about the actual house and what was its current state. So, let’s find out more about it:

Where Is The Real House From The Watcher?

The Watcher’s true home is at 657 Boulevard in the picturesque New Jersey neighborhood of Westfield.

What Happened With It?

The actual Broadduses paid $1.3 million to buy the 1905-built house in 2014 and started remodeling it before moving in.

However, the family only partially occupied 657 Boulevard because they were afraid for their safety after receiving the foreboding letters from the Watcher, and they placed the house back on sale a year after buying it.

However, when possible purchasers saw the letters that the Broadduses had received, they were discouraged from buying the house.

After renting it out for several years, the couple ultimately succeeded in selling 657 Boulevard for $959,000 in 2019, about $400,000 less than what they paid for the home when they first purchased it.
