The First Life Sentence for Christopher Scarver

If you didn’t already know, Christopher was admitted to the Columbia Correctional Institution the same year Jeffrey Dahmer was given his sixteenth life sentence in the same facility. Christopher assassinated Steve Lohman, his boss, in 1990 after he lied to Scarver about something at work. In 1992, he was found guilty and given a life sentence.

Getting Rid Of The Monster In Prison

In a prison, Christopher Scarver encountered Jeffrey Dahmer. He allegedly constantly carried a news item about Jeffery being a cannibal in his pocket. Many detainees were offended by Jeffrey’s smile as he walked. In addition, he was well known for frequently insulting them. Jeffrey even added ketchup to the scene in front of them when he was incarcerated to simulate blood.

The police thought that murdering Jeffrey would grant a criminal “an honoured standing in the prison community.” Another attempt on his life in 1992, which failed, came before his murder. He was renowned for disturbing his fellow inmates, which may have contributed to his demise. According to rumours, Christopher used to carry a news article about Jeffrey’s cannibal crimes about with him at all times.

Everyone was aware of Jeffrey’s potential, and the government was worried for his safety. Jeffrey Dahmer resided in “protective isolation” for the first year. On November 1994, Jesse Anderson, Christopher, and Jeffrey were given the task of cleaning the prison’s gymnastic bathroom.

The Attack

Christopher took advantage of the chance when the correctional officer was gone. And killed Jeffrey and the other prisoner, Jesse Anderson. With a 20-inch metal rod. According to his account, he felt like “the chosen one” at that precise moment. In a prior interview, Christopher Scarver disclosed their chat before killing Jeffrey:

“Because I was so abhorrently repulsed, I asked him if he did such things. He felt astounded. He was, indeed. He didn’t take long to begin looking for the door. I obstructed him. All it took was two blows of the bar to Dahmer’s head. Dahmer was declared dead an hour after arriving at the hospital due to a fractured skull. He was 34. He died in the end.”

After being struck by a hefty metal bar, Jeffrey Dahmer was found on the bathroom floor with severe head injuries. Dahmer was present throughout the attack. But after being transported to a neighbouring hospital, he was pronounced dead. Christopher Scarver received two additional life terms for these murders as a result.
