It looks like an upgrade from her bare Orange County detention center cell, where she spend approximately the past 17 months for stealing somewhat around $275,000 from luxury hotels, associates and financial institutions. She had previously made outlandish claims of having a net worth of $60 million which were false.
However, the question that left everone wondering is How can Sorokin afford life in New York City?
Speaking about her living, she lives on the 5th floor of her Manhattan apartment which is decorated with one bed, 2 chairs, and a small table and the rest of the area is occupied by her artwork.
Previously in May, she had held a successful artwork exhibition. Moreover, the 31-year-old had been making her orginal art during her prison time all thanks to her representative Chris Martine, who helped her gain art supplies in prison.
The fake German heiress has reportedly paid her rent after selling her artwork for around $10,000.
As per reported by the outlet, Sorokin is aiming to afford lavish New York lifestyle through her artwork.
Furthermore, she has previously received a hefty cheque of approximately $320,000 from the streaming giant Netflix for their crime series ‘Inventing Anna’ which is based on her life.
However, as per the con artist herself, all money that she received went to her lawyets and compensation for her crimes. In her statement, she said, “That money was gone before I left prison.”
Anna, who now admits that living in New York is quite expensive, is still found it “difficult” to travel via subway to meet her probation officer.
She spend around $169 of Uber trips back and forth from her parole. When the outlet asked the question, if the only way of transport is in giant SUVs, to which Anna replied, “No. Iโm allowed to take any mode of transportation.”
Sorokin also revealed that she will be selling drawings online. The prints of her drawings starts at around $250 while her pencil created original pieces will be ranging from $10,000 to $15,000.
As per her representative, there is a long queue wait to buy her originals which she had created during her time behind the bars.
