What will have if Pakistan boycott the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 in India and which team will replace them
The Cricket World Cup in 2023, which will be hosted for the first time exclusively by India, is eagerly awaited. 48 games make up the tournament, which runs from October 5 to November 19. The inaugural and championship games are played in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 is set to take place from October 5th. Interestingly, the inaugural match will be a repeat of the 2019 final, as England will face New Zealand. Pakistan’s participation is still in doubt, requiring official authorisation. The third-placed team from the qualifiers in Zimbabwe will take Pakistan’s position if they choose not to compete. Due to their two losses in the group stage, the West Indies could miss out on the World Cup. For the Super Six round, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Scotland, the Netherlands, and Oman have qualified.
The 2023 World Cup and Asia Cup host cities are still up in the air. Due to India’s refusal to go to Pakistan, a hybrid arrangement involving matches in Sri Lanka and Pakistan has been implemented. Pakistan last travelled to India in 2016, in preparation for the 2021 T20 World Cup, whereas India last travelled to Pakistan in 2008. Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad are the five locations where Pakistan will perform.
If Pakistan comes for the world cup but refuses to play against India like in 1996, India will get a walkover and the full points from the clash.
Hotel prices have skyrocketed in Ahmedabad as ICC announced Ind vs Pak venue.
India and Pakistan will square off in an exciting match on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, according to a recent announcement by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Hotel prices in Ahmedabad increased more than threefold during the match dates, indicating the tangible enthusiasm among cricket fans worldwide.
In Ahmedabad, the average hotel room cost has increased from 5,000 to 8,000 to 40,000 and, in certain cases, 1 lakh. The ITC Narmada, the Courtyard by Marriott, the Hyatt, and the Taj Skyline Ahmedabad are just a few of the five-star hotels in Ahmedabad where rooms are no longer available due to high demand.
Nalin Zaveri, president of the Saurashtra Chamber of Commerce, gave news organisation ANI an explanation of the causes behind the Ahmedabad hotel rate increase. With hotels in the city only having a maximum capacity of 1,32,000, Zaveri claimed there is an obvious demand and supply mismatch due to the large number of visitors from outside the city who are coming just for the major event.
Hotels and Restaurants Association (HRA) – Gujarat officials were reported by PTI as stating that the demand from NRIs and higher middle-class cricket fans from other states is the main reason why hotel charges in Ahmedabad have increased.
