โI will be leaving the club at the end of the season,โ stated Klopp. โI understand that this may come as a shock to many people at this moment, hearing it for the first time, but I can explain it โ or at least attempt to explain it.โ
Despite expressing deep affection for the club, city, supporters, team, and staff, Klopp emphasized that his decision is based on a conviction that it is the right one, signaling a depletion of his energy.
Klopp clarified that health concerns were not the driving force behind his decision, stating, โI am okay. I am healthy, as much as you can be at my age. Little bits and bobs, stuff like that, but nothing anybody has to be concerned about, so thatโs absolutely fine.โ

The manager disclosed that he had informed the club of his decision back in November. Speculation suggests that this early notice may have influenced Liverpoolโs decision not to make significant transfers in the current transfer window.

The German national team has faced a series of disappointing results, and with the upcoming Euros on home soil, a change in leadership might be in the cards. If Falkโs prediction holds true, Klopp could use his time off to recharge before assuming the Germany job ahead of the 2026 World Cup in North America.
With Nagelsmannโs contract set to conclude after the Euros, an interim manager might be required if Klopp decides to take a break.
While Klopp was previously a top candidate for the German national team role, securing his release from Liverpool proved impractical last year, leading to the appointment of Julian Nagelsmann.
