According to a post on tapatalk.com dated November 6, 2009, Kohberger asked, “What is this… I keep waking up with severe VS as all I can see and every time it goes away slightly but now it just is sort of the same.. all I can see is afterimages and VS wt*. This is making vision worse. This can’t just keep up without a medical reason!”
What is Visual snow syndrome?
The term “visual snow” describes a persistent visual disruption that can completely block out the world. Those who experience it frequently compare it to the faint flashing of television static. This “snow” is typically black and white, but it can also be other colours or even see through.
Due to its rarity, visual snow syndrome has received relatively little study. Single-patient accounts constitute the majority of the available information about this illness. Although the precise causes are still unknown, experts have discovered a correlation with other illnesses like tinnitus.
In most people, visual snow syndrome is accompanied by other visual impairments, which greatly increases the difficulty of living with the illness. Some people, for instance, claim to have trouble seeing at night or to be too sensitive to light (photophobia). Palinopsia, a disorder that generates persistent after-images as if things were leaving a trace, is just one example of the regular occurrence of visual effects that originate in the eye.
Visual snow syndrome are of two types
While studies on visual snow syndrome are scant. Specialists have been able to categorise symptoms into two groups: visual and non-visual. The visual symptoms are the most obvious indication of this illness since the visual abnormalities it generates are so distinctive.
The most notable sign is visual static, which manifests as an overwhelming number of insignificant, rapidly moving dots. These can be seen in several places and can be any colour or transparency. Similar visual distortions are conceivable, so be specific when describing your symptoms to a doctor.
