Since then, the turtle suit has become the talk of the town with many people trying to find out more about him. So, let’s find out everything about him:
What is a turtle suit?
A turtle suit or suicide vest is a single-piece outer garment that is tear-resistant and prevents prisoners from constructing a noose out of their clothing to end their lives. It is often called a smock.
Prior to their invention and implementation in the 1990s, inmates who were thought to be in danger of suicide were commonly kept in their cells either nude or dressed in paper gowns.
Angenette Levy, a broadcaster for the Law and Crime Network, uploaded a photo of Kohberger with the description, “Notice the vest he is wearing,” according to the Daily Mail. In answer to a follower’s query about the suit, Levy said, “You can’t cut it to hang yourself.” He added that it is similar to a suit.
According to the website of the vest’s maker PSP, the Suicide Prevention Smock combines comfort, covering, and warmth without compromising safety, security, and overall efficacy.
The retail price of one turtle suit is $425. They are occasionally provided to detainees who are believed to be the focus of violence by their fellow inmates. It also helps to prevent suicides since the vest cannot be turned into a weapon that may be used against guards or other prisoners.
