“Ahead of the release of Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion, a search across social media unfolded for clues to unlock an encrypted file on a secure website,” the blog post on the Marvel website promised. In order to get a taste of the fascinating series, viewers must unravel this web without assistance from Fury himself (where is he?).
The ‘encrypted file’ password was unintentionally tweeted out by the Secret Invasion Twitter page three minutes before the original message from Marvel Studios was released, so it’s probable that it was intended to take fans some time to figure it out. It’s funny that the solution to the encrypted file was known before fans even started their search because the tweet was altered less than a minute later to only include the website name and the hashtag #SecretInvasion.

Imagine a world where information isn’t reliable, the narrator says. Not that difficult, is it? Society begins to fracture. We only have our loved ones to rely on. But what if those individuals weren’t who we believed them to be? What if the people who are closest to us and whom we have trusted our entire lives were completely different people?
“What if they weren’t even human?” the narrator teases as Ross speaks with Agent Prescod in a safe place. Agent Prescod, who served as the narrator in this case, emerges to inform Ross of the ensuing turmoil.
Prescod suspects the Skrulls, who were allegedly promised a safe new world by Nick Fury thirty years ago, are the covert organisation behind a number of recent terrorist acts across the globe. Prescod hands Ross a mystery tablet and tells him that this upcoming attack will be the one to ignite a global conflict in response to Ross’s assertion that he needs more than just outlandish notions to convince Fury to come back from space.
Ross promises to provide Fury with the information. Prescod then rushes him, and the preview clip stops. On June 21, Secret Invasion will make its Disney+ debut.
