Some football fans are convinced Travis Kelce went down with an injury Sunday all because Taylor Swift wasn’t in the crowd and while Travis later returned — and even secured a touchdown — fans couldn’t help but point out Taylor’s absence as the reason why he got hurt mid-game with some claiming the injury was to spend more time with Taylor.
Even though Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour was gaining popularity, some of the teams that made it to the postseason suffered because of the concert tour’s conflict with the NBA Playoffs in 2023. According to a popular Reddit myth, Swift’s performance in several places has foretold the team’s downfall.
The Redditor supported his claim by describing the consequences. When she started her tour in Arizona, the Phoenix Suns were already out of the playoffs. Before her tour of California, the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers were also ready.
It wouldn’t be if it weren’t for complete balderdash, which is what it is in the real world. However, in terms of coincidences, fans like Reddit user Matt Moses genuinely believe that the “Lovestory” famed star is a playoff curse.
Swift performed three times in the city of brotherly love, with her third performance being on the same evening that the Celtics defeated the 76ers to advance to the Eastern Conference finals. (She, however, did affirm that the words “with my Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door” was about the NFL’s Eagles, a significant win for Philly Swifties). And don’t worry, fans of the 76ers and Hawks, Boston received their “Karma.”
The Celtics dropped two games and were behind 3-0 in the series against the Heat during Swift’s three-show run at Gillette Stadium from May 19 to May 21. Bostonians have learned “All Too Well” this season that they will eventually be “exile[d]” from the playoffs by the Miami club.
