Manor Solomon bio

Manor Solomon is an Israeli professional footballer who was born on July 24, 1999, in Kefar Sava, Israel and is a Jew by religion. He primarily plays as a winger or attacking midfielder for English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur as well as the Israel national team. Just like every other Israeli citizen, Solomon completed a period in the military when he was just 18. The youngster developed a strong sense of discipline from his time spent in the military. Notably, his father worked as a fitness trainer and played a major role in keeping him in tip-top condition from a very young age.

Age and height

Manor Solomon is currently 24 years old and stands at a height of 1.70 m (5 ft 7 in).

Play style

Solomon has a strong ability to carry the ball but lacks in his final delivery. Recently, the young singer has switched sides and started playing on the left side, where he can combine his strong dribbling skills with his lethal right foot. Solomon uses his low centre of gravity to evade opponents in both his on and off-the-ball movements. Aside from the wings, he can also play as a number ten.

Manor Solomon career

Manor Solomon started out his football career at Israeli football club Maccabi Petah Tikva aged 17. After playing there for two seasons, he decided to join Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk on January 11, 2019, on a transfer worth an initial €6 million. This was then the fifth-highest transfer fee for an Israeli professional footballer.

He had a great campaign there, particularly in the Champions League, where he scored his first goal through a dramatic 95th minute winner against Atalanta. The following month, he scored a goal to secure a 1-1 draw against Manchester City. Notably, the young winger has scored winning goals against major clubs like Real Madrid.

On the international stage as well, Solomon has managed to step up for his country. He played his biggest game for Israel in October during a game against Scotland during the semi-finals of the Euro 2020 qualification playoffs. Manor Solomon played the full 120 minutes but Scotland eventually won 5-3 from a penalty shootout after the match ended in a draw. However, he managed to get revenge just a few weeks later after he scored the only goal in Israel’s 1-0 win against the Scots in the Nations League.
