Kylian Mbappé has acknowledged openly that he follows and believes in Christianity. He was born in Cameroon to a Christian father, though his mother is Muslim. His mother, Fayza Lamari, is descended from Algerian Kabyles.
Mbappé served for AS Bondy for 11 years as a youth player before transferring to the Clairefontaine Academy. He played for the Chelsea youth team before deciding to move to Monaco. He made his senior Monaco team debut in a match against SM Caen in 2015. At the age of 16, he scored his first goal for the team, making him Monaco’s youngest goal scorer. After Neymar Jr., he became the second-most expensive player when PSG signed him on from Monaco. He scored a goal against Metz in his Ligue 1 debut for PSG, and since joining the team, he has elevated his game to new levels.
Regarding his professional aspirations thus far, he has participated in over 250 games and scored over 201 goals for PSG. In 60 games for Monaco, he scored 27 goals, and in 66 games for his native France, he scored 36 goals.
Will Mbappe move to Madrid next summer?
The French superstar refused to sign a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), which led to widespread transfer rumours earlier in the summer, with significant connections to a move to Real Madrid. Even though his ideal transfer to the La Liga powerhouses never happened, he is still linked to the move to the capital of Spain.
He finished third behind Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland in the Ballon d’Or event, and as he made his way to his car from the Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris, he was clearly dejected. He did, however, smile, give a half-wink, and gesture with his neck when a journalist from El Chiringuito de Jugones asked him about a possible summer transfer to Real Madrid, which stoked rumours once more.
Jose Manuel Otero, a board member of Los Blancos, showed confidence earlier in October that Mbappe would sign a free transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu the following summer, joining Jude Bellingham, the winner of the Kopa Trophy 2023, who joined them this year.
