Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld was born in Lagos, Nigeria, on January 31, 1997. He was born to a Dutch father named Cees, and a Nigerian mother named Hauwa. Danjuma is the third of three children and was just 4 years, when his parents divorced. He has an older brother named Reinier and a sister named Lisette. The trio shared a close relationship with one another.

Growing up as a young boy, he faced a lot of problems and trials. Danjuma along with his mother, and siblings, were even homeless at one point of time. He grew up spending a lot of his time in foster care while growing up.

Career

Danjuma has had quite a professional career and has played for a number of clubs. He first started out his career by making a substitute appearance for Jong PSV in the Eerste Divisie in 2015. He then joined NEC the following year to play in the Eredivisie and Eerste Divisie.

Danjuma joined Club Brugge in 2018 and played in the Belgian First Division A. He made his first big move to AFC Bournemouth onAugust 2019 for a fee of £13.7 million. Following which, he moved to La Liga side Villarreal for an estimated fee of around €25 million in 2021. He will now make a return to the Premier League having signed a loan deal with Tottenham Hotspurs.

On the international stage, Danjuma chose to play for Netherlands and made his senior debut on October 13, 2018. He has so far gathered only 6 international caps and has scored two goals.
