What is the real age and date of birth of cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi as he becomes the youngest IPL player in history
The success of Vaibhav Suryavanshi came with some controversy, since it was claimed that the cricket player was actually 15 years old rather than the 13 years, 288 days that he had declared. Sanjiv Suryavanshi, the father of the cricket player, has now addressed these claims, claiming that Vaibhav was happy to undergo an age test and that he had undergone a BCCI bone test when he was eight and a half years old.
“When he was 8 and half years old, he first appeared for a BCCI bone test. He has already played India U-19. We don’t fear anyone. He can again undergo age test.” Sanjiv Suryavanshi said.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s background and career
Vaibhav Suryavanshi who hails from Samastipur in Bihar, has garnered attention for his remarkable on-field accomplishments. Suryavanshi made his debut against Mumbai in the 2023–24 Ranji Trophy season at the age of barely 12 years and 284 days. This was history in and of itself.
Former cricket great Sanchin Tendulkar began his career at 15 years and 230 days, while Yuvraj Singh made his debut at 15 years and 57 days.
When Suryavanshi made 104 runs off just 62 balls during the Youth Test series against Australia in Chennai, cricket analysts took notice. At 13 years and 188 days, he also became the youngest centurion in the 170-year history of competitive cricket.
At the youth level, he also set a record for the fastest century hit by an Indian. His scorching century off 58 balls was the second-fastest at this level, only surpassed by England’s Moeen Ali, who did it in 56 balls.
