A representative from Myna insisted that their product formulation was distinct and exclusive to the company, countering claims that Pokimane’s cookies were merely a “rebranded product.”
Despite this clarification, criticism emerged regarding the steep pricing of the cookies, set at $7 per bag, with the additional requirement to purchase them in 4-pack, 8-pack, or 12-pack bundles which brings the minimum price to $28.

In response to the backlash, during a live stream on November 18, Pokimane defended the pricing and addressed those who criticized it, referring to them as “broke” and suggesting they admit to it.

During her live stream on November 18, Pokimane stated “When people are like ‘oh my god $28 for cookies’. It’s four bags, that’s $7 per bag. I know, I know math is hard when you’re an idiot. But, if you’re a broke boy just say so.”
This remark ignited further controversy, with many users on Twitter and other platforms condemning her for being “insensitive” and “out of touch.”
