However, some had the opportunity to use the Nudge on TikTok, which is being compared with the rather annoying Poke option on Facebook. But, they don’t work similarly at all.
Nudge on TikTok explained
The Nudge feature on TikTok is being used for notifying content creators to go live. Once a user nudges you, they will have the access to the live update of your account. Distractify reported, the ‘feature is still being tested, so some TikTok users are only able to use it at present. ‘
This new option appears to be an addition to the platform’s effort to level up engagement between its users and content creators with a single click. Nudge was first tried on the platform last summer, but didn’t get anticipated traction from the users as they were not able to figure out its use.
TikTok is featuring videos about the content creators being confused about the new feature nudge and how it works.
How to use TikTok Nudge
If you don’t wish to be nudged, you can also disable this feature by going to the Creators Tool and then selecting Nudge from the options. The page features an option known as “Allow viewers to nudge you”, which can be toggled on or off.
If you wish to nudge a certain creator, as Distractify notes, you have to visit on profile and tap on the small bell which is on the top-right of the screen.
You will receive the option to change Live Notification Settings, under which you can find a button that allows you to nudge any content creator.
TikTok is all set for making this feature available to all users.
It isn’t similar to poking on Facebook
Numerous TikTok users are under the assumption that Nudge works in the same way as Poke on Facebook, but it’s not true. The Facebook features allow you to poke their friends and friends of friends by simply clicking on the option of the same name, which will send them a notification saying who has been poked.
On the other hand, as we have explained above, it appears to have been designed to bring the platform users close with an active engagement in real time.
