Mahalakshmi’s husband Hemant has accused Ashraf of having a role in the Bangalore case

Recently, reports surfaced that a woman’s dismembered body was found in her Bengaluru home. The victim identified Mahalakshmi, was allegedly dismembered her body into 50 pieces, sending shockwaves across the entire nation.

As per media reports, the killer stored Mahalakshmi’s remains in a refrigerator before fleeing the crime scene. The gruesome murder was discovered by neighbors when they reported a foul smell coming from her home.

Her estranged husband, Hemant Das, reportedly named a man Ashraf as a suspect in the case. Reportedly, Ashraf believed to be a close friend of Mahalakshmi, originally hails from Uttarakhand, is currently under investigation.
According to Hemant Das, the deceased was in a relationship with Ashraf from Uttarakhand and worked at a salon in Nelamangala and mentioned that several months prior, Mahalakshmi had gone to the Seshadripuram police station and submitted a blackmail complaint against Ashraf.
“A few days before the murder, Mahalakshmi and Ashraf had a heated argument. She had even lodged a complaint against him. I believe he is behind this heinous act,” Hemantdas said.

What Did the Police Say?
The authorities have begun analyzing Mahalakshmi’s call records and extracting data from her phone to trace her last communications.
Furthermore, the investigators also begun examining technical evidence to track her movements and potential suspects.
Meanwhile, a local grocery store owner provided a crucial lead, telling the police that a young man frequently picked up and dropped off Mahalakshmi.
In addition, Mahalakshmi’s family and her estranged husband have cast suspicion on Ashraf and 3 other colleagues; Mukta, Sashidhar, and Sunil.
In his statement, Mahalakshmi’s estranged husband, Hemant Das detailed his troubled relationship with her wife.
As per counts given by Das, he and Mahalakshmi were married for six years, and that her wife ran a mobile shop. Due to family issues, they separated from each other about 9 months ago.

Identity of the Suspect
Ashraf, who is a salon worker from Uttrakhand, is accused by Das of blackmailing Mahalakshmi leading to frequent conflicts between the couple.
In addition Das revealed that although she used to visit his shop monthly to see their four year old daughter, she had not been there for over 25 days before her death.
In another update, age 29 Mahalakshmi from Nepal had previously filed a complaint against Hemant at the Nelamangala police station in December 2023, accusing him of neglect. She and Hemant had been married for 6 years before seperating nine months earlier.
Later, Das filed a complaint in February 2024, accusing Mahalakshmi of harassment and public humiliation over money.
Though the investigators mediated between them, the conflict persisted.
As the investigation progresses, the authorities are narrowing down suspects and closely examining her relationship with Ashraf and her colleagues to uncover the motive behind this horrific crime. However, the police is yet to reveal the name of the killer but has told that the suspect is in West Bengal and is not from Karnataka.
