Pogba failed a drug test in August 2023. The French football player was disqualified for four years after a doping test revealed high testosterone levels in his blood. However, the 2018 World Champion’s ban was lowered to 18 months after the CAS reviewed an appeal.

Mudrik tested positive for doping on the evening of December 17. Meldonium, a prohibited substance, was present in the player’s sample “A.” Mikhail was given a short-term football suspension.

It is anticipated that Sample “B” would be opened in the upcoming days. It will then be evident whether Mudrik will be disqualified and, if so, for how long.

In 2016, tennis player Maria Sharapova tested positive for the drug and was subsequently banned for two years.

However, Mudryk has promised to defend himself and make an effort to return to the field soon.

Mykhailo Mudryk confirmed his drug test results

The news of his positive drug test has already been verified by Mykhailo Mudryk himself on social media. Mikhail pledged to disclose the specifics of the case after the investigation was completed and guaranteed that he did not intentionally use illegal substances.

In addition, Chelsea has already released a formal statement regarding Mudrik’s failed doping test. Notably, Mykhailo attested to the fact that he has never intentionally taken any illegal substances.

Mudrik has participated in 15 Chelsea games in all competitions this season, tallying three goals and dishing out five assists.

Mudrik was benched during Chelsea’s Premier League match against Aston Villa on December 1st, the last time he was part of the team. Mykhailo has been excluded off his team’s roster for the past four games. The London club’s head coach, Enzo Maresca, had stated that the Ukrainian was not feeling well.
