On August 5, the riverboat incident was recorded by several people in the area of Montgomery Riverfront Park before Alabama police broke it up. An apparent brawl between two males and a man thought to be a riverboat employee quickly became heated. Many more individuals intervened, appearing to stand up for the man.
This black security guard at the Riverfront was allegedly jumped by these white people, according to one woman who appeared in one video. As soon as the crew disembarked, WWE Smackdown began.ย
One of the witnesses said, โI hate when people jump others most of the time, and even more so when you want to fight or jump someone for performing their job. I thank everyone who assisted that man.โ
The Riverboat Brawl Incident
In a subsequent statement, the Montgomery Police Department said that numerous people had been jailed and were being investigated for various crimes.
Montgomery Mayor Steven L. Reed stated in a statement that authorities “acted swiftly to detain several reckless individuals for attacking a man who was doing his job.” Justice will be carried out, and warrants have been signed.
“This was an unfortunate incident that never should have happened,” Reed continued. โWe should not become used to violence of any kind in our neighbourhood as our police agency looks into these disgusting acts. Our criminal justice system will hold those responsible who decide to use violence.โ
The Folding Chair Becomes The Latest Meme On Social Media Platforms
Meanwhile, folded chairs were crushed over people’s heads and people were tossed into the sea, which caused the “inventor” of the folding chair to become the focus of memes on the internet.
One person joked about the incident and said that Nathaniel Alexander patented a chair design in 1911 for use in classrooms, churches, and “in small towns when somebody tries you.”ย
As the jokes started to come in, many users pointed out that the image “of Alexander” was actually Lewis H. Latimer, who created the filament for the light bulb, among many other things.
