Garo Sero Institute is a popular Korean YouTube channel currently embroiled in controversy after exposing Kim Soo-hyun and his alleged relationship with late actress Kim Sae-ron.
The famous YouTube channel revealed that Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron were allegedly in a relationship for over 6 years with Kim Soo-Hyun was aged 27 and Kim Sae-Ron was 15.

Things took a turn after YouTuber Kim Se Ui from Garo Sero Institute dropped new claims, and not long after, Sae Ron’s aunt spoke up, ‘exposing’ Soo Hyun’s connection to the actress. On Monday, Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, issued a statement denying the dating allegations and the YouTube channel hit back with a bold response and, in the process, dragged BTS into the middle of the controversy.
Following the allegations, Gold Medalist issued a statement saying, “The YouTube channel accused our agency and Kim Soo Hyun of colluding with YouTuber A to harass the late Kim Sae Ron. They also falsely alleged that Kim Sae Ron had been in a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun from the age of 15 and that our agency handled her drunk driving incident inappropriately. These claims are entirely false and cannot be ignored.”
In their latest statement, Garosero Research Institute mocked the idea of legal action, saying, “Legal action? Even the so-called world star BTS once claimed they’d take ‘legal action’ against Garosero. And how did that end? Everyone ended up enlisting in the army! Now, Kim Soo Hyun, who’s mainly popular in China, wants to take legal action?”

Public Backlash
Garo Sero Institute has faced heavy criticism for its controversial content over the years. The channel has been sued several times for defamation and harassment, with one major incident involving secretly filming actress Song Yoo-jung’s funeral and spreading false claims about her death. Garo Sero also accused actress Han Ye-seul of drug use and Choi Ji-woo’s husband of being a former sugar baby, resulting in legal actions.
Police Arrest
In 2021, Garo Sero members Kang Yong-seok, Kim Se-eui, and Kim Yong-ho faced police detention. Kang and Kim Se-eui initially locked themselves in their office, refusing to cooperate. Police officials later arrested them, while detaining Kim Yong-ho at his home. The trio had ignored over ten court orders and police requests.
Kim Yong-ho’s Departure
In 2021, Kim Yong-ho announced his departure from Garo Sero Institute, admitting he had “turned into a monster.” He later deleted the video and confirmed his fallout with Kim Se-eui. Sadly, Kim Yong-ho committed suicide on October 12, 2023, marking a significant blow to the channel.
