Here is all you need to know about the Buffalo Bills stadium trend “feed the pit” as a viral video has been going viral

In the AFC wild card round of the NFL playoffs, the Buffalo Bills, who have been winning six straight games, dominated the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bills Mafia appears to believe there is a very good reason for this. It’s like “feeding a pit.”

Similar to sweet potatoes a few years ago, some Bills supporters believe that a pit at the team’s future stadium will bring them luck.

On Twitter and TikTok, there are rumours circulating that Buffalo concluded the regular season with a five-game winning run and then defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday as a result of a pit at the location of a new stadium being continuously “fed” with spectators.

What is feed the pit?

After someone fell into the pit where their new stadium is being built, Bills fans are allegedly hurling people into it before every game, which is what apparently started their current winning streak.

The concept on the viral tik tok video itself is straightforward: the Bills will triumph if a supporter makes the ultimate sacrifice by falling over into the pit prior to kickoff. With a winning streak spanning from Nov. 26 to Nov. 13 at home, Buffalo has elevated their previously remote chances of making the playoffs to a real contender for the championship.

Is the theory real?

Just before a game against the Raiders in September, a man was arrested for jumping into a construction pit at the Bills’ new stadium site. As per a report in the Sporting News, the occurence doesn’t seem that the offence had anything to do with inspiring the team; once inside, the man was found to be under the influence of multiple drugs, appeared to climb the fence on his own, and engaged in lewd acts.

Before the Buffalo Bills’ divisional playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs, well-known Buffalo lawyer William Mattar offered some free legal counsel to the Bills Mafia on X.

Though the Bills continued to struggle in the middle of the season well after the September pit jump, the timeframe also doesn’t square up with their late-season success.
