Who is Luke Humphries?

For those unfamiliar, Luke Humphries, born on February 11, 1995, is an accomplished English professional darts player competing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events.

Currently holding the title of World No. 1 and World Champion, Humphries is nicknamed “Cool Hand Luke.”

He boasts victories in prestigious events such as the World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts, and Players Championship Finals, along with his 2019 PDC World Youth Championship triumph.

Originating from Newbury, Berkshire, Humphries adopted the name Luke, representing “Leeds United, Kings of Europe,” a nod to his and his father’s allegiance to the football club.

Prior to his darts career, Humphries worked as a roofer but retired in 2018 to pursue darts full-time. In October 2022, Humphries and his partner Kayley welcomed a son.

His journey in professional darts began with five PDC Development Tour titles in 2017, leading to his qualification for the 2018 PDC World Darts Championship.

On January 3, Humphries clinched the PDC World Darts Championship title with a 7–4 victory over Luke Littler in the final.
