The plot of Assassination Classroom centers on a group of kids who must assassinate their homeroom teacher in order to save the world, but this teacher is not your typical one. In reality, their sensei is an alien with octopus-like features who is not only determined to destroy Earth with the help of his superpowers but also proves to be one of the class’s best instructors ever.

The libraries of the Gifford Middle School in Florida and the Elmbrook School District in Wisconsin have been forcibly emptied of the well-known science fiction manga series Assassination Classroom over the previous two months. In addition to many other school districts across the country, Assassination Classroom may now be banned in Pender County, North Carolina, Richmond, Virginia, and elsewhere. A parent whose child goes to Elmbrook Schools told Fox: “We continue to discover frightening things and public schools defend them. Parents are repeatedly told that public school personnel knows what’s best for their children.”
Intriguingly, when Port City Daily asked Mike Korn, a supporter of a campaign in North Carolina to ban certain books from school libraries if he had even read Assassination Classroom, he reportedly admitted that he hadn’t and that all he had seen online were pictures of the student characters holding weapons.
