The names of the women are yet to be revealed though however they are being claimed to be the wives of Ministers, directors, the solicitor General’s Wife, the wife of the Director of Presidential Security, the wife of The Attorney General, the daughter of the Director General of Police, his little brother’s wife, his uncle’s pregnant wife and wives of several ministers as well as other married and pregnant women from both inside and outside the government.

A viral rumor has also claimed that one of the woman involved in the tapes has since committed suicide with an alleged video showing her dead body. However, the veracity of these claims is yet to be confirmed by any official source.


A number of these ladies are allegedly the spouses of prominent public figures, which further complicates matters and increases public outrage. Equatorial Guinean internet users want harsh penalties; some even demand urgent judicial action.

Corruption charges against Baltasar Ebang Engonga
