Weston McKennie club career and stats
McKennie and his family moved to Germany when he was at a young age due to his father’s work. He spent his early years in Germany where he started playing football at the age of 6. He first played for the youth team of a German club named FC Phönix Otterbach.
Following his return to the US McKennie played seven years for the FC Dallas’ youth team, from 2009 to 2016. His talents attracted the University of Virginia who made an offer. However, he turned them down in favour of playing professional football.
McKennie made a return to Germany and joined the youth team of Bundesliga side FC Schalke. He made his professional debut on May 20, 2017, coming on as a substitute against FC Ingolstadt 04. During his three seasons the American youngster played 91 matches, and scored five goals and seven assists.
He then joined Juventus on loan in 2020 and made his debut on September 20, 2020, during a 3–0 win against Sampdoria. McKennie quickly developed himself into an important squad member and made his champions league debut against Barcelona on November 1.
