West Ham are open to pay Chelsea 20 million pounds for the transfer of French defender Kurt Zouma ahead of the 2021-22 Premier League season
After weeks of inactivity and no news emanating from Chelsea’s camp, the club based out of London is in the limelight. Ever since news has broken of the club being on the cusp of a transfer for Jules Kounde, the side has been talked about.
While personal terms have been agreed with Jules Kounde, Chelsea are yet to agree a transfer fees with Sevilla. The La Liga club is set to be asking upwards of 35 million euros including the services of Kurt Zouma who they highly rate.
While an asking price is yet to be agreed upon, it’s a transfer which is set to be wrapped up in the coming days. With Kounde said to be buzzing to move to Stamford Bridge, its only a matter of time before Chelsea and Sevilla shake hands over a fee.

However, Chelsea are now facing a bottleneck in the transfer. While they have been extremely eager to let go off Kurt Zouma, the player has had a change of heart ever since West Ham’s interest in him has been made known.
West Ham have opened talks with Chelsea over a transfer for the French centreback with Chelsea’s neighbours willing to offer 20 million pounds to make Zouma their player. And it’s a transfer which Zouma is keen on as well as opposed to him moving to Spain with him looking forward to staying in the Premier League.
While the 20 million price West Ham have offered is not one which interests Chelsea, West Ham can return with an improved offer with Zouma’s willingness now known. And in case he’s adamant on switching to West Ham, Sevilla are bound to up their asking price for Kounde if they can’t avail Zouma’s services in return.
It’s a transfer which could end up in a potentially sticky situation after looking like a straightforward deal over the last couple of days.
