How Did The Injury Take Place?

Fofana, has just recently completed a £70m move from Leicester City over the summer. The injury took place during Chelsea’s recent match against AC Milan in the Champions League.

The 21-year-old got into a collision with AC Milan forward Rafael Leao and knocked his knee in the process. Fofana at first tried to carry on after the initial challenge but he soon had to signal to the Chelsea bench to come off.

Trevoh Chalobah. replaced Fofana for the rest of the match. As he left the pitch, Fofana was truly dejected and received a warm embrace from Ben Chilwell. Chillwell himself has suffered back problems back from his own injury problems.

Fofana had previously spent almost nine months on the sidelines while he was at Leicester after breaking his leg in a pre-season friendly. Coincidentally, he had complained about injury issues during his final few weeks at the King Power Stadium.

The Frenchman left Stamford Bridge on crutches as his injury somewhat overshadowed an impressive Chelsea win in west London.

The Blues outdid Serie A giants AC Milan to record their first Champions League win of the season and second win in three games under Potter.
