Earlier, reports surfaced claiming that a total of 50 Jewish children were expelled from a flight in Spain reportedly following a clash with the crew members. This incident has sparked an outrage on social media platforms, especially on X/Twitter, Reddit, and TikTok, with many condemning the act done by Vueling airlines.

The matter came to the spotlight after a video of a 21-year-old supervisor being detained by the Spanish authorities surfaced on social media platform X/Twitter.

What Did the Viral Video Show?

The now-viral video features a 21-year-old supervisor being forcefully detained by the authorities. In the 11-second video, the woman can be seen being pinned down on the floor as one of the officials trying to forcefully handcuff her.

The viral video which is shared by an Israel Minister of Diaspora and Combating Antisemitism “Amichai Chikli,” has so far received 15 million views.

As per Amichai Chikli, the age 21 woman seen getting handcuffed in the video is the Director of the Kinneret summer camp. The Jewish students were all part of this French summer camp, and were returning Paris after their camp ended. The incident which took place on Wednesday was alleged to have involved at least 50 children, aged 10-15.

As per claims made by the Isreal Minister, the kids were singing Hebrew songs on the plane, which didn’t sit well with the staff members of the Vueling airline as they allegedly said that “Isreal is a terrorist state and forced the children off the aircraft,” as claimed by Chikli.

What Did the Camp Organizers Say?

The organizers of the camp claimed that the kids were treated unfairly because of their identity, while accusing the Vueling airline of antisemitism. Though, the Spanish airline has denied all these allegations.

Holiday camp organisers have meanwhile vowed to file a legal complaint against Spanish airline Vueling over the expulsion of French Jewish teenagers after Spain’s Civil Guard said 44 minors and eight adults were taken off the plane and one person was arrested.

What Did the Vueling Airline Say?

On Thursday, the airline released a statement claiming that the group of children displayed “highly disruptive behavior,” while adding that the group had adopted a very “confrontational attitude.” The also alleged that the group was putting the safe conduct of the flight at risk. They also claimed that the group tampered with the emergency equipment of the flight.

They alleged that the staff members had warned them multiple times but their behavior continued, which led the staff members to call the Spanish authorities.

What Did the Witnesses Say?

Meanwhile, the witnesses revealed another side of the story as they said the group had boarded the plane very calmly. A 17-year-old teenager, who was part of the group, stated that one of his friends shouted a word in Hebrew very loudly. He admitted that his friend may have been very loud, but they immediately stop after being warned. While the parents of the kids alleged that the removal happened because one of the kids sung a Hebrew song.

While some social media users have claimed that the Kinneret summer camp were signing Death to the Arabs and assaulted the flight crew members, these reports are unverified with other reports and witnesses on the plane claiming the students were just singing a Hebrew song.
