It is confirmed that the 2023 BetVictor Welsh Open will take place at Llandudno’s Venue Cymru from February 13 to February 19, 2023. Following the Northern Ireland Open, the Scottish Open, & the English Open, it will be the fourth and final competition in the Home Nations Series for the 2022–23 season. Additionally, it will be the eighth and final European Series event of the season.

2023 BetVictor Welsh Open schedule, date, time, venue, format, & list of participants
Ronnie O’Sullivan, the reigning world champion & No. 1 player of the world, will face-off against Oliver Lines to qualify for the main draw. Meanwhile, last year’s runner-up Judd Trump will clash against David Grace with a position in the last 64 at stake. Andrew Higginson has taken Fraser Patrick’s place in the BetVictor Welsh Open after Patrick withdrew. Patrick was scheduled to face Neil Robertson at 1pm on the first day of the competition on Monday, but Higginson will take Patrick’s place, setting up a rematch of the Welsh Open final from 2007, in which Robertson overcame an 8-6 deficit to triumph 9-8.
From January 11 to January 13, 2023, qualifiers were held at Barnsley’s Metrodome. The top 16 players in the global rankings and two Welsh wild card participants had their matches postponed to be played at the final site. Joe Perry is the current champion after defeating Judd Trump 9-5 in the 2022 championship match.
Prior to the quarterfinal round, all matches in the Welsh Open main draw will be played on a best-of-seven frames format. Before the tournament’s conclusion on Sunday with a best-of-19 frames championship match, the semi-final will have a best-of-11 format.

2023 Welsh Open: prize money distribution
It is understood that the winner of 2023 Welsh Open would get £80,000 in cash from the $427,000 total prize pool. The event’s runner-up will win £35,000 while each semi-final loser will receive £17,500. According to tradition, the player with the highest break will get $5,000.
