Every match in the main draw of the Welsh Open will be a best-of-seven frames competition up until the quarterfinal round. The semi-final will follow a best-of-11 frames format, with the final taking place on Sunday with a best-of-19 frames championship match.

2023 Welsh Open: prize money distribution
It is understood that the 2023 Welsh Open winner would get £80,000 from the $427,000 total prize fund. Additionally, the event’s runner-up will receive £35,000, and the losers of each semifinal will receive £17,500. Following their surprise first-round elimination from the 2023 Welsh Open, Stephen Maguire and Ding Junhui will return home with prize money of £3,000.
