It is the Welsh Open’s 12th ranking event of the 2021–22 snooker season, and the 31st since its inception in 1992.

Jordan Brown was the defending champion, having defeated Ronnie O’Sullivan 9–8 in the final of the 2021 Welsh Open Snooker. However, he suffered an early loss at the qualifiers against Mitchell Mann. Brown lost the match 3-4 against Mann.

The event is being held at Celtic Manor Resort in Newport. The final is slated for Sunday, March 6th. The tournament qualifying rounds continued from 15th February to 20th February. Tickets for the fixtures can be bought here.

On the fifth day of Welsh Open, all quarterfinal matches were settled. Semi-final matches are scheduled to be played on 5th March.

On March 5, all semi-final matches of Welsh Open Snooker will be settled with all eyes on Judd Trump vs Hossein Vafaei. The tournament favourite Judd Trump defeated world number five Neil Robertson and is in amazing form. Tournament Format And Rules

Up until the quarter-final stage, all games were best of seven frames. The quarterfinals featured a best of nine frames.

The semi-finals are best of eleven frames, and the final will be best of seventeen frames.

Welsh Open Snooker 2022 4th March Results

All Quarterfinal matches were held on 4th March. With a 5-3 victory over Neil Robertson, world number four and tournament favourite Judd Trump secured a place in the Welsh Open semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Hossein Vafaei put a stop on Zhang Anda’s fairy-tale journey with a 5-4 win. Meanwhile, Joe Perry secured his semi-final berth with a resounding 5-2 win over Ricky Walden.
