Thomas Tuchel provided a hilarious response when he was asked about if Chelsea were in the pursuit for Erling Haaland as well
Although they ultimately managed to get their hands around a prized asset in the form of Romelu Lukaku, its no secret that Chelsea were aspiring to buy Erling Haaland previously. The Borussia Dortmund starlet was highly regarded at the Premier League side with the club more than willing to break the bank for him.
However, a refusal to budge on their stance and lower their expectations saw the Bundesliga club hang onto the services of the striker. It saw Chelsea turn their attention to Romelu Lukaku, a player well too versed with the land of the club.
Back the club who had signed him as a kid, Lukaku will be looking to finish the business he has left at Stamford Bridge. Two outstanding seasons with Inter Milan saw Chelsea open the strings of their purse and offer a staggering 97.5 million pounds for the Belgium based player.
