Chahal said, “I never told this story, from today everyone will know. I never shared this. This dates back to 2013 when I was with Mumbai Indians we had a match in Bangalore. There was a get-together after that. So there was a very drunk player, I won’t say his name.”
“He was very drunk, he was looking at me for a long time and he just called me and he took me outside and he hung me on the balcony,” he added.
“Had I lost my grip, I was on the 15th floor… Suddenly many people who were there came and handled the situation. I kind of fainted, they gave me water,” he further recounted.
Chahal is now one of the best leg spinners in the world but at that time he was a youngster who was struggling to find a place in the 11. Chahal’s main motive for sharing this incident was to aware everyone that how careful one should be while they are around drunken people.
It remains to be seen if information on who the MI player was comes out in the open in the days to come. Chahal meanwhile has managed to rediscover his form with his new franchise after a couple of woeful years where he was being bashed around the park.
