Longtime NBA forward Robert Horry won seven championships and earned the nickname “Big Shot Rob” thanks in large part to his skill at working the officials with a video of one referee having had enough viral

On Friday night, Horry used his skills, but not in a professional setting. He made the mistake at his son’s high school basketball game and paid for it right away.

Video from a game between St. Francis High School (La Caada Flintridge, CA) and Harvard-Westlake High School (Los Angeles, CA) shows Robert Horry, 52, being ejected for heckling a referee. His son Christian Horry plays basketball for Harvard-Westlake.

According to witness James Escarcega, Robert Horry started yelling at the officials after Christian was called for his fourth foul in the third quarter. The video begins with Horry standing in the stands and yelling “You suck!” During this time, the referee points at Robert, and the camera doesn’t pan to show him being ejected from the game.

A second or two later, someone came over to herd RH and off they went toward the gym’s exit. Horry halted his run to have a quick word with the HW coach. The men immediately comforted one another with an arm around and Robert went on. Horry had previously fought with a heckler at a basketball game featuring his kid in Los Angeles in August of 2017.

Who is Robert Horry?

American former professional basketball player and current sports pundit Robert Keith Horry was born on August 25, 1970. He was an NBA player for 16 years, and he won seven titles — more than anyone who wasn’t on the Boston Celtics in the ’50s and ’60s.

He is one of just four players in NBA history to win a title with three different franchises, having done it with the Houston Rockets (twice) the Los Angeles Lakers (three times), and the San Antonio Spurs (twice).

His ability to come through in the clutch during crucial moments in games earned him the moniker “Big Shot Rob,” and he is now universally recognised as one of the NBA’s all-time best. Recently, Horry has taken a job with the Los Angeles Lakers as a colour commentator for Spectrum SportsNet.

After 16 years in the NBA with the Rockets, Suns, Lakers, and Spurs, Horry retired as one of the game’s all-time great clutch performers.
