The World Indoor Bowls Championship 2024 became the target of the notorious s*x noise prank, much to the amusement of the predominantly older audience who burst into laughter in a viral video
During the semi-final match between Harry Goodwin and Stewart Anderson, the prank played over the BBC cameras, leaving both players and commentators in an awkward situation.

Last year, Gary Lineker experienced a similar embarrassment during the FA Cup coverage between Wolves and Liverpool, and the Euro 2024 draw in Hamburg also fell victim to the prank.
This time, however, the explicit sounds couldn’t be concealed, leading to a moment of hilarity as Goodwin and Anderson attempted to maintain their composure.
Commentator Suggested ‘Sound Issue’
As the unmistakable noises echoed through the auditorium, Goodwin and Anderson’s reactions ranged from stifled laughter to shocked expressions.
The commentator, David Corkill, awkwardly suggested a “sound issue” on air, while the crowd erupted into laughter, with one X, formerly known as Twitter comment describing the incident as a perfectly executed “porn noise prank.”
Match Temporarily Halted
The match had to be temporarily halted, implementing a technical timeout to allow everyone to regain their composure. Unfortunately, the prank resurfaced shortly after, causing further discomfort for the players and the coverage team.
This incident marked the latest in a series of broadcasts disrupted by sex-related noises, including Match of the Day and the Uefa Euro 2024 draw.
The BBC, unwittingly caught in the act once again, referenced a ‘sound issue’ during the World Indoor Bowls Championship, eliciting laughter from the audience in Great Yarmouth.
Notably, this wasn’t the first time the BBC unintentionally broadcast explicit noises. A previous incident during Match of the Day Live led to a studio standoff between Gary Lineker and BBC executives, with the former England captain finding humor in the situation and refusing to apologize.
The prankster ‘Jarvo’ claimed credit for the interruption, prompting the BBC to issue an apology and investigate the source of the disruption.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson of BBC came forward to apologize said “We apologies to any viewers offended during the live coverage of the football this evening. We are investigating how this happened.”
