Why did the woman try to hit police officer prior to 2023 IPL final kick-off?
Although the 2023 IPL final featuring Chennai Super Kings vs. Gujarat Titans has been delayed due to heavy rain, there was plenty of drama in the stands of the Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. On social media, one video is going viral and the woman could be seen shoving the police officer around inside the stadium when it was packed with spectators. Despite the continuous attacks from the woman, the policeman left the scene without taking any action.
In response to the video, numerous netizens claimed that the police officer was drunk and might have misbehaved with the woman. However, others argued that the woman was beating the police without any decent reason and should be charged for violence. Notably, this scene took place in an area filled with Chennai Super Kings fans and hence, many believe that the woman is an angry CSK fan.
What could happen if play isn’t possible due to heavy rain?
If even a 5-over match cannot be finished on Sunday, the match will move into the Reserve Day. If minimum 5-over match for the Final can’t be played on the reserve day, the teams will, if the circumstances allow, play a Super Over to decide the victor. The team that placed first in the league table following the 70 regular-season games will be deemed the winner if it is not possible to begin the Super Over as intended.
Notably, there was a rain delay before Gujarat Titans vs. Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2023 Qualifier-2 tie. However, the rain stopped after a couple of hours, and the two teams engaged in a complete 20-overs-per-side contest.
