LA Dodgers’ Will Smith crushed a walk-off home run to lead his team to an 8-6 win over SF Giants, this Tuesday at the Dodger Stadium.
Everyone had expected the 2021 season of the National League West to be a fight between Dodgers and Padres. While the two teams are certainly in the mix to win the division, it’s the Giants who have reached the top of the division, proven that they’re not going anywhere. But drama unfolded at the Dodger Stadium this Tuesday when Will Smith hit a walk-off shot, leading the Dodgers to an 8-6 win over the Giants.

Dodgers utility man Chris Taylor remarked how this was huge for the team and probably the biggest win of their year so far. “They took that first one from us and jumped out to an early lead in the second one, so for us to kind of stick with it and come back and find a way to win a game.” Manager Dave Roberts seconded these words by Taylor.
Smith was pumped up as he remarked upon The Dodgers’ big win and said that they were going home happy tonight. He said that it’s going to be a long second half, a long stretch and “a fight with those guys and the other guys in the Padres.”

Must-win games in July are quite nonexistent, especially for a team with as much postseason experience as the Dodgers. Still, the team understands that if they want to win the NL West for the ninth consecutive season, they will to have to win their head-to-head matchups against the Giants and Padres.
They have an opportunity to make up ground against the Giants amidst playing the division rival seven times over a 10-day span. On Tuesday, it didn’t look pretty all the time, but as they’ve managed to do many times this season, the Dodgers found a way.
