It appears that the moment Kanye West interrupted Taylor’s speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards will always be brought up by fans.
When Kanye burst onto the stage, the Blank Space artist was going to win her prize for Best Video by a Female Artist.
The iconic interruption was repeated by actress Olivia Munn four years later, and that particular scene has now reappeared on social media.

TAYLOR SWIFT RESURFACES WITH OLIVIA MUNN PULLING A “KANYE”
Although the Taylor Swift and Olivia Munn television scene that went viral was from 2013, it appears that fans like to republish earlier versions of popular recordings.
When Olivia reclaimed the trophy from Taylor, she was going to win the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Country Artist.
“This always happens,” said Taylor to which Olivia responded: “And it will always happen, Taylor. This is your lot in life.”
“I know,” Taylor replied back.
Taylor received a return smile from Olivia as she returned the prize and said: “I’m not going to be this person.”
Despite the joke, Olivia took sure to reassure the public that she and Taylor have a good relationship.
The Mortdecai actress addressed the joke during a chat with E! Online, telling the publication: “It was a whole bit that we planned and it was supposed to be funny. Somebody said to me the other night ‘Did you want to take her award?’ and I [was like], ‘I didn’t want to take her award’.
Because that’s what people do and Kanye stole her trophy. She was really lovely, and we laughed about it. Olivia responded when asked if anyone else understood the joke she told that she believed some people had no idea that they were joking. She further said, “But at least those who mattered were aware of our humour.”
What Happened With Kanye And Taylor At The 2009 VMAs?
Kanye stopped the Lovestory singer as she was set to win her award for Best Video by a Female Artist at the 2009 VMAs.
While Taylor, as she was accepting the award, was giving the thank you speech, Kanye entered the stage and took the mic from Swift, saying:
Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’mma let you finish. But Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!”
Beyoncé was completely taken aback by what had happened as the cameras moved to her in the audience.
When Taylor presented Kanye with the Video Vanguard award at the 2015 VMAs, she made fun of the entire event. The Singer said:
I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you finish, but Kanye has had one of the greatest careers of all time.”
