Today, sad news from Brazil says that the famous Brazilian soccer player Pele is getting end-of-life care at the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo. Reports, as told by The Mirror, say that the chemotherapy treatment Pele was getting for his bowel cancer is no longer working.

People say that his loving wife, Marcia Aoki, is with him in the hospital ward where he is getting painkillers. It’s a sad fact that the world has to face: it looks like we’ll soon have to say goodbye to one of football’s biggest stars.
Since hearing the news, fans have been very sad, and there have been a lot of tributes to the World Cup winner on social media. But one video has gotten a lot of attention because it shows Pele and Maradona, another great football player.
For decades, people argued about which of the two old-timers was the best, just like they do now about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. And, as is usually the case, there is never a clear winner. Because of this, many people thought that the two were almost bitter rivals who didn’t respect each other’s work.

After hearing that Maradona will die in 2020 and the recent news about Pele, that clip makes me feel so many different things. They both did so much in their careers and left such a lasting impression that, even though life doesn’t last forever, their legacies will. We wish Pele and his family the best during this hard time.
