They might be floundering in their pursuit of Erling Haaland but Chelsea have out of nowhere sprung up a surprise. After there being absolutely no news of the club in the transfer market for a defender, the side is now on the cusp of completing a move for Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.

The news which emanated a couple of days back alludes towards Chelsea being in the final stages of sealing the player’s signature. The entire transfer is once again a  testament to the silence in which the head honchos at Chelsea work with no one even getting a whiff of what the club was upto.

As per the latest news doing the rounds, Chelsea and Kounde have agreed personal terms with the club only left to land a transfer fees with Sevilla. And things are working well on that front as well with Chelsea slated to have offered 30 million pounds plus Kurt Zouma to acquire Kounde’s services.
