When Gautam Gambhir paid back entire Rs 3 crore salary to Delhi due to underperformance in the IPL
Amit Mishra attempted to diffuse the tension in the 17th over of the low-scoring run-chase, but he soon found himself entangled in the entire episode. Following RCB’s 18-run victory, the 23-year-old rookie and Kohli came face to face for the second time during the ceremonial handshake with Gambhir jumping in as well.
Gambhir who has been known to leave his all on the field is considered on of the finest captains in the league owing to his two titles. And back in 2018, he handed ended up forgoing his entire salary after returning to the Delhi setup owing to his underwhelming performances.
Delhi Daredevils had bought him for INR 2.8 crore and named him as captain for IPL 2018.
Lots of old Gambhir interviews doing the rounds. He returned 3 crores to his franchise when he didn't perform in his farewell season. The only person who might do that. Jazbaati banda hai Gambhir. Paddy Upton jaise ignorant log ise insecurity bolte hain.pic.twitter.com/HJUijTYIn7

When a politician made fun of Gautam Gambhir saying why does he have to work in IPL considering he is a member of parliament, he answered. He spend around 3 crore rupees annually to feed nearly 1000 needy everyday, twice a day, from his personal expense and not from MP fund. pic.twitter.com/JRb4T9EBO6

This time, RCB all-rounder Glenn Maxwell had to step in. Later, Naveen was spotted turning down KL Rahul’s invitation to discuss the situation with Kohli. Rahul is the LSG captain. Fans of Kohli responded angrily to Naveen’s treatment of the Indian star.
The altercation continued till Insta stories.
Following the match, they wasted no time in making derogatory comments on his Instagram post. According to reports, Naveen had to turn off the comment part of his post in order to avoid the abuse. A few supporters, though, harassed the cricketer in the comment sections of other blogs.
In an Instagram Story on Tuesday, Naveen made fun of Kohli by writing, “You get what you deserve, that’s how it should be, and that’s how it goes.” Following his heated argument with Naveen and LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir, Kohli also posted a mysterious Instagram story that said, “Everything we read or hear is just an opinion, not the truth. Everything we observe is a viewpoint, not the whole story.”
“If you gonna give it, you gonna take it. Otherwise don’t give it,” Kohli advised in a video that RCB broadcast on Tuesday. Notably, on April 10, LSG upset RCB by one wicket in Bengaluru’s maiden meeting between the two clubs. At Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Gambhir hushed the home crowd as he celebrated his victory.
Virat and Naveen both received punishment.
While Kohli and Gambhir were penalised with 100% match money, Naveen was only fined 50%. One of the better players for LSG was Naveen, who took three wickets on a surface that supported spin. However, the 126 total from RCB ended up being a success because none of the LSG batters provided any resistance because they were outscored by 18 runs.
