Lionel Messi is an Argentinian legend and the people’s champion, but after his country beat the Netherlands in a shootout on Saturday morning, the star was not happy with him locking heads with Wout Weghorst in a viral video
Argentina, led by Messi, has made it to the World Cup semi-finals and will play Croatia for a spot in the final. Messi is known to be pretty cool, and he lives as privately as a man with 386 million Instagram followers, who is arguably one of the best players of all time, and who is worth a billion dollars can live.

But he wasn’t happy that his team made it to the second-to-last game of the World Cup after a 2–2 tie was broken by a 4–3 shootout win.
Messi was very angry, though, because his team was up 2-0 until Wout Weghorst scored twice in the last seven minutes to tie the game and send it to extra time. Messi has won a lot of titles in his long career, but the World Cup is one of the few he hasn’t won. The win over the Netherlands was as spiteful as it gets.
In the game, there were 15 cards: eight for Argentina, six yellows, and one red for the Netherlands. But there were also times during the game when cards were shown to the benches.
After the game, everyone got back together. It’s safe to say that neither team will send the other one a Christmas card this year. But while Messi was talking to Argentinian reporters on the field after the game, a rival who was thought to be Weghorst and who wanted to shake hands and trade jerseys was told to back off by Messi.

“What are you looking at, you stupid? He told a player named Weghorst, “Go on, f**k off over there!” before the host tried to get Messi to calm down.
Weghorst later said, “I went up to him after the game to shake his hand. He didn’t accept it and said something rude to me, but I don’t know much Spanish. I’m very sad about it.”
Lionel Messi also yelled at the Dutch coach
He also told Van Gaal. As he left the ground, he gave his Dutch assistant Edgar Davids and Van Gaal both barrels. Messi told reporters, “I felt disrespected by Van Gaal’s comments before the game, and some Dutch players talked too much during the game.”
Emi Martinez’s Anger After Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi wasn’t the only one who was mad after the game, as his teammates gave the Dutch a serve. Emi Martinez, who plays goal for Aston Villa and is from Argentina, yelled at Van Gaal, “I f**ked you twice, you b***h,” after two great saves. He also told the Dutch bench, “Keep your mouth shut, f**king t**t.”

He also said that the referee was “the worst referee in the tournament.” “The ref did everything he could for them. They got a good header and a good flick, but I couldn’t see it, and then all of a sudden it turned upside down. Then he said, “The ref was doing everything he could for them.”
