Watch “Westbrick is now shaming,” Russell Westbrook Tells Lakers Fans To Stop Mocking Him

Russell Westbrook has had enough of the Westbrick jibe with him asking the Los Angeles Lakers to quell their chants

Opting to switch to greener pastures has clearly not worked out in Russell Westbrook’s favour. Ever since he’s moved to the Los Angeles Lakers, Westbrook has been in torrid form, a player who has had to encounter the brunt of the Lakers’ fans tirade as their team regresses in form and gets schooled on the court.

Russell Westbrook Wants Westbrick Jibe To End

While Westbrook has far from been the only reason for the Lakers’ horrid form this campaign, he’s played a fair hand in the team’s downtick. His failed attempts at shooting haven’t gone unnoticed with fans resorting to giving him the moniker of Westbrick owing to him persistently bricking shots.

His wife, Nina had finally run out of patience with her taking to Twitter to lash out at Skip Bayless for belittling her family’s name. And Russell has now decided he’s run his race with the insult as well with him talking about how he wanted the Lakers fans to halt using the term.

“A lot of times, I let it slide,” Westbrook said following his team’s loss to the Spurs in San Antonio. “But now it’s time to put a stop to that and put it on notice.”

“Me and my wife were at teacher-parent conferences for my son,” said Westbrook

“And, the teacher told me, ‘[My son] Noah, he’s so proud of his last name. He writes it everywhere. He writes it on everything. He tells everybody and walks around and says, ‘I’m Westbrook.’

“And, I kind of sat there in shock,” Westbrook added. “And, it hit me, like, ‘Damn. I can no longer allow people [to call me Westbrick].'”
