Just recently, a video of an online meeting where a senior HDFC Bank executive, who is reportedly the senior vice president, Pushpal Roy, chastising his subordinates, for failing to meet targets, has gone viral on social media.
The video showed a firsthand account of the toxic work environment that employees experience in the organization.

On a recent viral video a VP from HDFC Bank was found abusing his junior for not meeting his sales target.
The bank acted swiftly and fired the said employee.

HDFC Bank senior executive chastises his subordinates during target review
The video was originally shared by Soumi Chakraborty on the popular social networking platform LinkedIn. The now viral video showcased an online meeting between HDFC Bank employees. As the video progresses, viewers get to see a firsthand account of the toxic work environment that the employees have to endure under the leadership of senior vice president Pushpal Roy.
Over time, the video went viral on every social media site. The video is in Bengali language and shows Roy snapping his fellow subordinates while reviewing their work status and targets. Viewers can hear Roy saying “Shut Up” several times to the employees in a stern tone.
He is also heard telling an employee:
For you my CPI Score is 77, Today I will issue an HR memo to you and Tithir”.
HDFC bank release official statement
Following the video going viral, HDFC Bank reportedly suspended the officer in Kolkata. HDFC Bank said then proceeded to release an official statement saying:
This bears reference to a recent social media report. Basis a preliminary enquiry in the matter, the concerned employee has been suspended and a detailed investigation has been initiated which will be undertaken as per Conduct guidelines of the Bank.”
The bank further added that they have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of misconduct at the workplace. It also stated that HDFC firmly believes in treating all of their employees with dignity and respect.

After the video got posted on social media, many online users started calling out for harsher labour laws in India. Many users stated how this kind of toxicity has become normal in many organisations.
