This fundraising approach wasn’t a one-time occurrence; instead, videos spanning several years were uncovered. Media outlets obtained these videos from the YouTube channels of both schools.

Publicly available footage depicted Edmond students participating in week-long philanthropy events where they licked chocolate, peanut butter, and other condiments off feet and armpits.

Edmond Public School Release Statement

It’s known as Balto Week at Edmond North and Swine Week at Edmond Memorial. The latest footage discovered by media reports dates back to 2020, but videos are available as far back as 2015. Media outlets forwarded the video to Edmond Public Schools, seeking their reaction.

While acknowledging the feet licking incident did not occur in the current year, the district spokesperson did not directly address the videos provided by media. Instead, they issued the following comprehensive statement:

“We take pride in our students’ dedicated efforts during our philanthropy weeks. In the ongoing school year, our North and Santa Fe students have already raised over $416,000 for local non-profits, with Swine Week at Memorial still ahead.

“EPS school administrators collaborate with student council sponsors to maximize the impact of these weeks. Through months of hard work, high school students in the metro area learn invaluable life lessons about making a positive impact in their community.”

Parents’ Reaction

A formal apology has been Issued by high school after organizing an inappropriate ‘toe-licking’ challenge during a student fundraising event.

Expressing concern over the incident, a parent took to TikTok, questioning the appropriateness of such activities in Oklahoma schools. In the video, she expressed disbelief and disapproval, noting that her older daughter had attended the school briefly, adding, “WHAT is this?”

Expressing her disbelief, she wrote “Why is Oklahoma schools so full of perverts? I mean come on, what in the world is this?.” She further added “My oldest daughter went to school here for a minute. WHAT is this.”

X users expressed strong disapproval of the unusual ‘challenge,’ denouncing it as ‘child abuse,’ ‘criminal abuse,’ and ‘s*x abuse.’

“Is it justified just because they agreed to participate? Who within the faculty permitted this to happen? This goes beyond reprehensible; it is criminal abuse,” commented one X user in response to the school district’s statement.
