The video of Scott McTominay as he celebrated Napoli’s title by smoking a cigarette has gone viral

Within nine months of his arrival in Italy, Scott McTominay has made history at Napoli by leading the team to their fourth-ever Serie A championship.

With the slopes of Mount Vesuvius visible in the backdrop, more than 200,000 supporters gathered in the city’s charming waterfront to rejoice with their heroes.

The celebration went on well into the night, as Scott McTominay, 28, added a touch of Scottish flair to the championship party after video surfaced showing him swigging a bottle of whisky and smoking cigarettes on top of the bus during Napoli’s title winning parade in Naples while being serenaded by his teammates and club and national player Billy Gilmour.

With Antonio Conte’s team, the midfield giant Scott McTominay has adapted to life in Italy like a duck in water. Later, he was spotted sipping a bottle of Tennents Super, which was once made by Glasgow’s Wellpark Brewery.

Even though the 28-year-old says his classes to acquire the vernacular are going well, he was put on the spot on Monday during Gli Azzuri’s open-top bus tour to parade the Scudetto.

The Tartan Army favorite, who could speak a few words of Italian, got into a comical argument with teammate Pasquale Mazzocchi when they were asked how they manage to communicate despite the language barrier.

When asked a question by a Rai reporter, McTominay, who scored his 12th and final league goal of the season in Friday’s 2-0 victory over Cagliari that sealed the title, promptly replied, “non parlo Italiano,” which means “I don’t speak Italian” in English.

After praising his friend with a chant of his new moniker, McFratm, a combination of his name and the Neapolitian slang term for “brother,” a jubilant Mazzocchi insisted that the two communicate by “gesticulating” and making hand gestures.

Even if McTominay is still learning the language, his remarkable influence on Serie A has already earned him a spot in Napoli’s annals.

Furthermore, former Rangers and Fiorentina player turned football analyst Lorenzo Amoruso thinks the Scotland hero went above and beyond when superstar winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia defected to Paris Saint-Germain in January in a high-profile deal.
