On Sunday afternoon, Liverpool shocked the whole football community by beating Manchester United 7-0 with Mark Goldbridge ending up crying over the result
United was confident going into the Premier League match because they hadn’t lost in their last ten games and had just won the Carabao Cup. But their hopes were dashed when Liverpool put on a dominant performance and won by a large margin.
Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, and Darwin Nunez each scored twice for Liverpool, and Roberto Firmino also scored. Mark Goldbridge, a United fan, went crazy when Firmino scored the last goal. Even with the loss, United is still in third place in the Premier League, seven points ahead of fifth-place Liverpool. United’s next game will be Thursday in the Europa League against Real Betis. They will be looking to get back on track after their terrible loss. Their next Premier League game is on March 12 at Old Trafford against Southampton.
