Anaguchi’s Last Fight Video

A video of the incident has now emerged online, revealing the critical moment during the match that ultimately claimed the 23-year-old boxer’s life.

Anaguchi faced fellow countryman Seiya Tsutsumi in the undercard of the Naoya Inoue vs. Marlon Tapales undisputed junior featherweight championship bout, which was broadcasted by ESPN+/Lemino at Ariake Arena, Koto-Ku, Japan.

Video Depicts Aftermath of Kazuki’s Injury

Anaguchi, unfortunately, lost the fight through unanimous decision. Subsequently, a distressing clip circulated on social media, depicting the harrowing aftermath of the injury.

On a user platform labeled X, a video of the incident was shared with a caption stating, “HE DIED! Kazuki Anaguchi fought bravely against Seiya Tsutsumi for those who do not remember or witnessed it.” The footage showed Anaguchi struggling to stand with his legs twitching just moments after the bell rang.

Despite actively engaging throughout the match and even outboxing his opponent in several rounds, Anaguchi faced knockdowns in the fourth, seventh, ninth, and tenth rounds, resulting in Tsutsumi securing the victory.

Anaguchi Lost Consciousness?

As per earlier reports, Anaguchi received immediate medical attention and was transported to a nearby hospital. The bout between Anaguchi and Tsutsumi was for the Japanese bantamweight title, and although Tsutsumi emerged victorious, the fight will be remembered for a tragic reason.

Immediately after the conclusion of the match, Anaguchi received treatment for a severe cut over his left eye and was taken to a nearby hospital. However, before reaching his assigned room, Tsutsumi lost consciousness.

According to various media reports, doctors performed an emergency craniotomy to address a subdural hematoma on the right side of Anaguchi’s brain. Hailing from Osaka, the young boxer had started his journey in the sport at the age of six, amassing an impressive amateur record of 68-8.

The fight against Tsutsumi marked his first 10-round bout for a regional title, but sadly, it cut short a potentially promising career and left behind a one-year-old daughter.

Following the tragic news of his passing on Friday, the shared clip on platform X revealed the grim aftermath of his December 26 fight. Despite all precautions taken, Kazuki Anaguchi succumbed to the final battle of his life.
