Recently, the footage has gone viral on social media. In the heartbreaking footage, Fuentes is seen on a little orange boat in the middle of the ocean before being thrown out and allowed to perish

According to reports, Reinaldo Fuentes Campos, who is popularly known as Taliban, is a narcotics trafficker from Venezuela. Notably, it has been claimed that the 68-year-old stole cash and 450 pounds of cocaine from a cartel and was connected to narcotics trafficking between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.

What happened to Reinaldo Fuentes Campos in the viral video?

Reinaldo Fuentes Campos is shown in the video with his hands zip-tied and an anchor around his waist, which went viral on Twitter. As he lied on the floor of the little boat, Fuentes can be seen in the video staring at the person taking the tape.

He is then scooped up and allegedly thrown into the Caribbean Sea near Martinique after being thrown over the edge of the boat. The other guys on the video, including the one who recorded the incident, have not been named, but it has been claimed that they can be heard saying things like “make sure none of our faces can be seen” and “he has no way to save himself.”

Fuentes served as a middleman for the Clan del Cartel in Venezuela and journalist Ramón Tolentino claims that Fuentes operated illegally under several guises, including the name Miguel Fulcar. Furthermore, he is accused of throwing a $10 million package of drugs into the water before being tossed overboard and of fabricating a Coast Guard pursuit to justify not returning the contraband to his superiors.

Why ‘El Taliban’ was thrown into the sea?

He apparently hails from the Venezuelan city of Carpano and has three children from a previous relationship. Additionally, he purportedly dated a well-known attorney. Due to his questionable business relationships with Middle Eastern drug traffickers, Fuentes is said to have controlled the drug trade in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Bonao.

Tolentino was informed by sources that Fuentes had been involved in stealing a multi-million dollar cocaine shipment intended for Tortola, the largest of the British Virgin Islands, and that this theft was the reason for his assassination. If any arrests have been made as a result of the incident, it is unknown at this time. The military of the Dominican Republic has reportedly stated that it is unaware of the occurrence and that it took place in waters that are not under its control.
